Supertunia Jazzberry Is Back!!!! - Sep 18, 2025
Dear gardening friends
Around 15 years ago I was holidaying in Italy, it was summer, we went to the markets in L'Aquila and I saw these huge pear shaped Tomatoes, so I bought some.
I noticed they were huge and they felt soft, I loved the pear shaped Tomatoes, but the surprise was still to come. When I cut them open I noticed they had less seeds and more flesh.
We ate them on fresh bread with Olive oil and salt. I can still taste those Tomatoes, I've never tasted better, they tasted like sweet fruit. I know that sounds funny because Tomatoes are fruit but they don't taste like fruit in the shops, they have no taste.
When I returned to Australia I discovered that this heirloom variety was already here, the Italians brought the seeds with them, we've been selling them ever since.
Grow them in big pots using Tim's Best Potting mix, or grow them in your vegetable garden. When you plant your Tomatoes plant them a little bit deeper, as they grow don't prune them. Add more stakes to support the foliage and fruit.
Pick the fruit as they turn from green to yellow green. Bring them inside and ripen on your window sill. This will prevent them getting stung by fruit fly.
Eat them when they turn bright red, it only takes a week or so, they taste like they have been picked from the vine, they taste amazing, they are soft like tomatoes should be, they are sweet fruit.
Tim's Italian Tomatoes cost $4.99.
They are amazing.
Some great news Supertunia Jazzberry is back in stock, but the sad news is we have limited numbers. But the other good news is, this week we have lots of other colours in the range. We are the Supertunia Capital of the World.
These amazing plants grow beautifully in big pots, and you only need one plant per pot, because they grow one metre wide and 45cms high. There's so many flowers they will make you smile all spring, summer and autumn. If you're lucky, they might survive winter too.
They grow best in Tim's Best Potting Mix, it's not an accident, Tim's Best Potting mix is full of fertiliser that makes them grow fast and furious, then the flowers come, and your garden starts to smile.
Yes they can be grown in the garden, dig a bag of Tim's Best Potting mix into your soil.
It's personal shoppers only for these guys, yes you have to zoom zoom. If you miss out on Jazzberry, choose another colour, we have more plants coming.
Our love for this plant can't be quenched.
Wow, I'm not sure I've ever used quench in a sentence.
Cucumber plants have arrived, it's always best to wait until spring has really started before planting these. If we get a late frost they melt.
I'm a lover of Lebanese Cucumbers, they are so easy to grow, they grow so quickly, they produce so much fruit you'll be giving them away. When you home grow vegetables you become friends with your neighbours.
Cucumbers need cross pollination and that's why you get several plants in a punnet. Prepare your soil with Tim's Cow manure with a dressing of Tim's FAST FOOD. Cover with Sugar cane and water well.
Take your Cucumber plants out of the punnet and split them up, keeping as much soil around the roots as possible. Poke a hole through the mulch to plant. Water well after planting, then morning and night for the first week. Once daily after is fine.
Don't forget Snail bait, snails and slugs are in plague proportions after so much wet weather. It's been dream weather for them. There are Snail baits now that don't kill wildlife.
Make yourself a Cucumber salad. Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Fetta cheese with fresh Lemon juice, Olive oil and Pink Salt. No Anchovies needed.
This is crazy, Ian Wolf and John Foskett from the SWNG Business group at Camden, just paid me $2,000 to talk about myself. I was so happy to help them, I asked them to donate the money to Lifeline.
SWNG is a networking group of men and women who meet once a month to share business ideas. I accepted the invitation in winter, not thinking that it would be in spring.
The first member I met was a Funeral Director and I got the feeling she was measuring me up. She even fixed my collar. "I'll be happy with cardboard" I joked with her.
It was an interesting group of people and we had a laugh. Everyone's trying to help each other have success in the Macarthur area.
Josh fertilised our lawn here with Tim's Rapid Results Lawn Food. People who have used this claim that it's turbo charged, and it turns their lawn bright green. Apparently you can see our lawn from the moon. You better come and get some.
