We Are Open Every Day, Come Visit! - Oct 03, 2025
Dear gardening friends
Supertunia "Jazzberry" is back in stock!!!
I'm so sorry if you've missed out on these fabulous plants recently but our grower is working over time to grow as many as they can to help meet demand.
It all started when I grew one of these in a big pot at my place using Tim's Best Potting mix. The plant started flowering just days later and didn't stop for the next 9 months.
The flowers are self cleaning, so as they age, they seem to disappear as more flowers open. It just looks fabulous and I just love the purple flowers!!!
The good news is we now have heaps of other colours to choose from, so you can mix and match to make your garden pop!!!!
Each plant will grow up to one metre wide by 45cms high. They can be grown in pots or gardens in sunny spots. Mine is hooked up to a drip irrigation system that comes on every day.
After Christmas cut your plants back by 25%, spray them with Yates Rose Shield, fertilise with Tim's FAST FOOD and it will sprout new growth and more flowers right through autumn.
Some gardeners have had them survive winter and they grow again in spring. Our's didn't survive winter here at Tim's Garden Centre.
It's personnel shoppers only for these guys. If you want one you need to zoom zoom. We have over 100 "Jazzberry" and lots of other fabulous colours for the long weekend.
I talked my neighbours into planting a Wisteria on their fence. It was just the perfect spot and I'd get to see it everyday, when I walk my dog.
I've always wanted to plant a Wisteria at my place, I've even taken a couple home over the years, but they just never got planted so I took them back to work.
Of course I wanted them to plant the Chinese Wisteria which is the one I love the most but they came to the nursery and chose the White Wisteria, I was heart broken.
But it's burst into bloom for the second spring and it really is beautiful, they have it planted on both sides of the driveway, the water runs to this corner so these White Wisteria are growing bigger and better.
The White doesn't have a perfume I noticed and I gave it a massive sniff, I may have a few petals up my nose.
But now I'm getting used to the White, I'm going to talk another neighbour into planting my favourite.
We still have Wisteria with more coming this week. We have Whites, Pinks, Blue and Double mauve.
They can actually be grown as shrubs, they look fabulous in a big pot. Does it sound like I'm talking you into planting one too?
Annabele Cook has these Princess Lilies growing in her garden, they flower the same time as her Rose bushes and the colours grow beautifully together.
Princess Lilies are botanically known as Alstroemeria and they flower for up to 9 months. They have thick stems and leaves, so they are able to store water.
They are very modest at first, until they start to bloom. The flowers are spectacular!!!!!
They thrive in gardens and large pots, use our Tim's Best Potting mix. Grow them in sunny gardens. They die down over winter then sprout new growth and beautiful flowers through spring and summer.
We have the compact growing dwarf varieties that can be grown in pots or gardens.
We have a nice selection of colours here, they will go beautifully with your Roses, they just add so much colour. Plants cost $18.99
Every spring I worry that I've bought too many potted Rose bushes. But then they burst into bloom, and customers flock to buy them and within a month all the most popular varieties are sold out.
This is what's happening now in our nursery. We have over 100 varieties and they are all starting to flower, they look fabulous!!! The colours look amazing and this time we have more David Austin Rose bushes, so the fragrance is even more amazing.
All our potted Rose bushes are all covered in spring new growth and lots of buds. We still find that the older varieties are still the best sellers but we have new releases too.
Roses like Mr Lincoln, Blue Moon, Double Delight, Pope John Paul, Just Joey and Freisa are still the best sellers. Gardeners have fallen in love with them.
Come and see our collection before we are sold out.
Most are $39.99, newer varieties and standard roses are more expensive.
This long weekend is the beginning of Rose Month.
We are open all weekend with Sunday and Monday hours 9-4pm. Saturday 8.30-5pm.
WARNING Check the new growth on your roses this morning. You'll notice thrips and aphids are on the new growth. You need to spray now or the flowers won't open or they will be distorted.
We have so many beautiful plants for this weekend.
Its time you came for a visit, our nursery has never looked this good.
Happy gardening
Tim
