Swanes Nursery is famous for it's roses but the good news is you don't have to drive all the way to Dural to buy them. The most perfumed varieties are now available at Tim's Garden Centre. So how do you tell which varieties have the best perfume when they just look like dead sticks?
Swanes have come up with the great idea of putting small perfume bottles on the label. The more perfumed bottles you see, the greater the perfume. If the label has 3 bottles then you should be able to smell this rose bush on your way home from work!
The most fragrant varieties also have great names,Scentimental, Heaven Scent, Sweet Intoxication and Flirtatious to name just a few.
Sweet Intoxication has purple blooms that will permeate your garden with an alluring clove fragrance. The aroma is so powerful it will leave you light headed. Imagine picking a fresh bunch of these flowers and bringing them inside your house.
Winter is the best time to buy rose bushes because they are often half the price of summer roses.
