$50 Mother’s Day Gift Cards For $40 - May 08, 2026

Dear Gardening friends
Hayden brought in his Balloon Pump yesterday, what are you going to do with that? I asked nervously. Turns out Hayden has a Balloon Fetish, and now our shop looks like it could fly away "Danny Deckchair" style.

Once the Balloons were blown up ,he went to work wrapping all our Cyclamens and Chrysanthemums, so you can just turn up, and take all the credit for a beautifully wrapped flowering gift, that will make your mum smile on Sunday.

Our shop really does look like a florist, except our plants are still growing, so they will flower longer, sometimes months longer, and your mum will be happy.

We still have the $50.00 Mother's Day Gift Cards for $40.00 so you should buy her one of those too.

If you're mums really a gardener, then you could buy her a bottle of our Tim's "FAST FOOD". This amazing fertiliser will make her indoor plants thrive right through winter, she can put a sprinkle, on the Cyclamen you just bought her.

We are ready to help you here, park your car in our carpark, and get your mum sorted in minutes. Get yourself something too. Our plants will have you smiling.

Try and sneak a balloon away from this display.
We might just take off if the wind gets up today!!!!

Tim's Famous Red Scarfs are back, just in time, for this horrible windy weather. You'll be amazed how they stop the warm air from escaping. They keep you warmer and they look fabulous too!!!!

Every year we make these fabulous Red Scarfs, right here in the nursery, we sell them for $10.00, and all the money raised goes to The African AIDS Foundation in Camden.

We love making them, and we love helping people too. They have become famous, Kate Ritchie wears hers when she's heading to The Southern Highlands. Graham Ross wears his, when he's travelling the world.

I wear mine non stop, all through autumn and winter. The 2026 model looks even better. It just seems warmer, we've sourced the material from The Orient. It's hand made here by a craftsman.

You get the picture, you want one, mum might like one too. Get her the matching Red Cyclamen and you'll be in the good books all winter.

We appreciate your help, to help us, help others.
It's a beautiful life.

This tree has a story, I came home from work one day, to find this tree had split in half. The trunk had split right down the middle and half the tree was lying on the ground.

I was devastated because I'd planted this tree to celebrate the birth of our son. So I rang a friend who is an arborist, Ben Abelevan. He came to have a look. "I can save this tree" he said.
I really thought he was joking.

But he cut off half the tree, that was lying on the ground, then he smoothed off the existing trunk with a chain saw. He tried to remove all the rough wood.

Then he climbed the tree, and removed 50% of the branches, to reduce the load on the split trunk. The tree looked terrible of course.

But then nature went to work. The tree grew new bark and the wound is now almost completely mended. I'll show the trunk in comments. It's absolutely amazing how a tree can repair itself in time. Now the tree is stronger than ever.

The tree now looks like a tree again, it's hard to imagine that it was split down the middle. I have at least 25 Manchurian pear trees on my property and only two have had damage, from the strong winds, that blow through this valley.

You can't believe how much this made me smile yesterday. I planted Illawarra Flame trees beside this Workshop at Campbelltown Railway Station. They have been struggling for years because the garden was full of weeds. The weeds were higher than the trees.

But today the staff are mulching the garden, they have put a weed reducing organic mat down first. This will help blanket the weed problem and the mulch enhances the beauty of the trees, and helps stop soil water evaporating.

I've got a feeling the staff here have just done this themselves, a big shout out to these guys.
We are greening Campbelltown together.

These beautiful trees will double in height in the next 12 months. Mulch makes plants grow faster.
More water, more growth.

Happy gardening
Tim
