Fruit Trees Have Arrived!!! - Jun 15, 2023
Dear gardening friends,
I've got a dirty face, because we've all been busy here potting up fruit trees and spring blossom trees. Winter is the best time to plant these so come and see our huge range.
We've got Peaches, Plums, Apricots, Apples, Figs, Persimmons, Nectarines, Almonds, Cherries to name just a few.
Fresh stock of Spathiphyllum "Picasso" have just arrived. We had a customer drive from Canberra to buy one on the weekend.
These are collector plants.
You won't find them in other nurseries.
A friend of mine grows these for us.
I met him at a Nursery Conference.
I liked his shirt straight away.
I said "Great shirt mate".
That's how our relationship started.
He grows these amazing "Picasso" Spaths in Cairns. We get them delivered to us. They arrive in perfect condition.
I imagine these plants have been singing in the truck "we're all going on a summer holiday".
Yes it's winter.
But they might not have been that excited about their holiday, if we told them that.
But they are still singing.
They look fabulous. Grown by a guy who wears great shirts.
They are up for adoption. It's two per customer limit. Yes some people buy these off us, then put them on Gumtree, for twice the price!!!!
Plants cost $49.99.
Repot them into a bigger pot.
If you buy the pot from us, we will do it for you, for free, using Tim's Best Potting Mix.
If you've been watching our Potting Mix trial here, then you will know how fabulous Tim's Best Potting Mix is. Why would you use anything else?
These Spathiphyllum Picasso will sell out fast. People drive from Canberra to buy them. We are big in Canberra.
Canberrians love us.
They sing "We're all going on a summer holiday" while there driving here too. But they really are.
If you don't have room for a fruit tree, then why don't you grow a Blueberry in a pot? They are so easy to grow, and they fruit in the first season. We've got Blueberries with flowers on them now.
These will become sweet blueberries in late spring. Growing Blueberries is so rewarding.
The best news is they grow beautifully in a big pot using Tim's Best Potting mix. You'll need a pot at least 60cms across the top. They grow best in a sunny spot. They will take afternoon shade.
Nice plants cost just $19.99.
Come see.
Hayden laughed yesterday when I told him I was getting a $10.00 Woolworths Chicken for dinner. Well I am a MasterChef.
When I got to Woolies, there was one chicken left. I ran to get it. I didn't even check the bake time.
It might have been sitting there since Christmas.
But I took it home, and reinvented it. I broke it up. Put it in a Pyrex dish with a lid. I drizzled Coles Lemon Vinaigrette over it, then added a handful of fresh Rosemary from the garden, with lots of Pepper.
I microwaved it for 8 mins.
I'd already cooked Brussel sprouts, Potatoes, Carrots and Broccoli. I served it up with Hummus. Yes gravy is too fattening.
It was amazing.
Dan gave it 10/10.
That's like winning a gold medal at the Olympics.
P.S The $10.00 Woolies Chicken is now $13.00.
I should have invested in Chickens!!!!
I'm giving you all these recipes so you can save money, and have more to spend on gardening.
Our new season rose bushes are flying out the door since we dropped the price by 25%.
It seems everyone likes a bargain.
The popular varieties are going fast, so don't delay. Roses like Mr Lincoln, Blue Moon, Double Delight and Just Joey always sell out fast.
Our nursery is looking fabulous.
All our spring stock is arriving now.
Come see.
Happy gardening
Tim
