Armyworm is on the march! - Feb 18, 2022

Kill the Caterpillars, and fertilise your lawn.

Dear gardening friends
Keep an eye on your lawn.
Armyworms are on the march!!
These sap sucking caterpillars will eat your grass and turn it brown overnight.

They always appear after a wet summer. The eggs are laid by a moth, and when we get ideal conditions, they hatch, and the caterpillars explode into plague proportions.

Every lawn in the street can get destroyed within days, as they go on the march. Most damage is done during the night. They hide in the grass during the day.

We have several control options, so come see us if you see these Caterpillars in your lawn. They are about 30mms long with a stripe on the side. See photo above.

Scott's have a great product that kills Curl Grubs, Armyworm and Ants. It's called Scott's Lawn Builder Grub & Insect.
Simply cast it over your lawn and water it in.

The 2.5kg bag treats 180m2 and it costs just $23.99. We've had great success with this product. It kills the caterpillars and grubs, then it turns your grass bright green!!!!
We've got it in stock now.
We have organic options too.

Have you seen these Crepe Myrtles flowering outside Namut Early Learning centre, next door to Campbelltown Library?

They are looking absolutely spectacular. I love how they have been under pruned, to expose the beautiful trunk. It just makes these summer flowering trees, look so much better.

We have this variety in the nursery for sale this weekend. It's called Crepe Myrtle "Lipan". It has beautiful pink flowers for 100 days over summer and autumn.

It's from the Indian Summer Range of Crepe Myrtles, that flower longer, and have resistance to Powdery mildew.

These fast growing hardy trees are the perfect size for today's courtyard sized gardens. They can also be pruned to any size.

We have a huge range of Crepe Myrtles in the nursery now. We also have the black leaf varieties called "Diamonds in the dark."
We will sell out.

I am a collector of Euphorbias.
These super hardy succulents flower every day of the year. We have a red flowering variety called "Siam Sensation" growing in a pot, at our front door.

If you've ever been to Thailand you'll have seen these growing in pots out the front of shops and houses. They believe this plant brings them good luck.

They are also called "Crown of Thorns" because they have thorns like Roses.

The reason I love these plants is because they never stop flowering. They also thrive in pots in sunny spots, and they don't need much water.

They have white sap like Frangipani and they are easy to grow from cuttings. There are so many colours to collect it will amaze you.

We have a huge display of them in the nursery up near the purple shed. You can buy plants covered in blooms for $29.99. We are always adding to our collection, so new varieties are coming.

Botanically known as Euphorbia milii they are one of my favourite collector plants.
Come see our display.
They never stop flowering.

We have this amazing drought hardy ground cover growing in our garden, called "Blue Chalk Sticks". It's just coming into flower now.

Hayden planted this tough succulent, when he gave this garden a make over. It's thriving here despite the root competition from the Cocos Palms. Nothing else would grow.

We've put the call out to Peter The Greek. He's our Succulent Man. "Can you grow these plants for us Peter, our customers are going to love them".

Peter has grown us beautiful plants that we can sell for $3.99. That's so cheap, it's ridiculous. Plant them 50cms apart and they will grow like our plant.

They only grow 20cms high by 50cms wide. They can be grown in pots too. They will spill over the side. They really are death proof in full sun.

We have the best selection of succulents in Sydney. Plants from just $3.99. Peter grows them all himself. He works 7 days a week.
We love him.

It's been hot, but autumn's not far away.
We would love to see you back in the garden. It's the safest place to be.
Come see us if you need help.
Happy gardening
Tim
