Plant a native on Australia Day. - Jan 25, 2019

Sweet tasting tomatoes at last!

I’ve harvested my Tim’s Fruit Fly Resistant Tomatoes this week. I had almost 100 tomatoes on just two plants. They are fruit fly free and they taste so sweet and delicious. Perfect to just plonk in your mouth for a quick snack, or cut them in half, and drizzle with Olive Oil. Don’t forget they need lots of salt.

A mate has just moved into a new house. The garden is a blank canvas. At least four two storey houses look directly into his yard. I’d be tempted to turn the entire back yard into a rainforest. Shrubs aren’t going to grow big enough here.

I’d have a path that meanders through the garden under the canopy of lush green native trees. You could turn this into a haven for the birds and you.

He’s not going to be able to hang his leopard print under wear on this clothes line is he?

The fruit on a Pink Cascade Lillypilly really are Pink. This fabulous weeping Lillypilly grows about 3 metres high so it will give you privacy from your neighbours and it has spectacular pink flowers and pink new growth. It’s Pink!
This plant doesn’t have to be pruned so you can plant a hedge of it and not become a slave to your hedge trimmer.
We have this amazing native plant in stock today.
It’s an Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi.

We are open Saturday and Sunday but we are closed on Australia Day. We realised a few years ago, that when it’s hot, people don’t want to garden on Australia Day.
That’s fine. We are staying home to party with our families. See you Tuesday.

Mulla Mulla or Ptilotus Joey grows wild beside Kata Tjuta (The Olga’s) and all around Uluru.

I love how they sway in the desert winds. We have this amazing native plant in pots today at the nursery.
