Give your mum a Cyclamen! - May 11, 2018

Dear gardening friends

It’s Mother’s Day this Sunday.
If you haven’t bought your mum a present yet, don’t panic. We have beautiful Cyclamen this year, and they will flower non stop for 6 months. They are priced from just $14.99 so they are much better value than a bunch of flowers.

Come and choose one, and we will gift wrap it for you for free. If you choose a nice Ceramic pot, we will repot your Cyclamen for you using Tim’s Best Potting Mix.

Tell your mum to put her Cyclamen outside in the cold. A shady patio is the perfect spot. It will take morning sun too.
Water twice weekly and it will flower non stop for 6 months. How good is that!!!!!

We also have beautiful Peace Lily’s.
I took one home last week for a friend of mine and it looked so good in my kitchen I decided to keep it myself. If your mum has a modern house we can repot your Peace Lily into a white ceramic pot like this one and it will really pop.

Peace Lily’s are one of the hardiest indoor plants on the planet and they remove dangerous toxins from the air.
Tell your mum to water it when the leaves start to droop. They flower best in a bright spot like this. We have a huge selection of beautiful indoor plants that will make your mum happy.

If you can’t decide what to get your mum don’t panic. We have $50.00 Tim’s Garden Centre Gift Cards for just $40.00. These are popular and most customers buy one for themselves too. We are open 8.30am to 5pm and you can park right outside our door. Forget about going to Macarthur Square. It will be a nightmare!!!!!

Carrington Garden Club came to see us on Monday. I gave them a gardening talk then we took a group photo of everyone holding a pig for a bit of fun.

Winsome Bellamy laughed when I asked her to hold a pig for me. Winsome was a nurse so she’s had plenty of experience holding babies. She laughed.
It made me laugh too!
Winsome is 91 years young.
She has been in Carrington over 25 years. She loves her little garden.
She lived in Lane Cove originally. She has seen so much change. All the Garden Club members spoke about how much Macarthur has changed. So many new houses.

They don’t understand why we are letting developers chop so many trees down.

They all agreed that Macarthur was much hotter now and it rains less often. They can remember when it used to rain every couple of weeks.
Now it rains every few months.

Pig had a visit from Shrek during the week.
Shrek’s swamp has dried up, so he came to visit Pig. He left Donkey at home thank goodness. These larger than life characters have been good friends since school days.
Pig often shared his play lunch with Shrek.
Let’s hope we get some rain soon so Shrek can go back to the swamp.

It’s interesting that the suburbs that get the most rain in Sydney are the suburbs that have the most trees. In Macarthur we are so busy chopping them down we don’t seem to care that if we have less trees we will get less rain. Trees create moisture. Without trees we can expect more droughts in the future. Maybe you can buy your mum a tree for Mother’s Day?

Come and see us on the weekend.
We can help fix all your gardening problems.
Happy gardening
Tim
